Aiesha..."Catch that Smile"

I had a fun afternoon out with Aiesha at the mall.....no we didn't do any shopping. Peggy at Twelve Oaks Mall was gracious enough to give me permission to shoot Aiesha's senior pictures there. You would never guess that some of the places we found were inside a mall! She came all the way up from Kentucky and while she was visiting in Michigan, she had her senior pictures taken. I love her smile and thought her face just lite up everytime she smiled. Take a look at some of my favorites and see if you can't "catch that smile"!! :)

My Grandma "Going Home"

My grandmother passed away on 2/17/08. As always with an event such as this, one stops and ponders many things. I thought of many things of which I will share. First of all, our time here on earth is for such a short time compared to time in eternity in heaven with Almighty God. My grandmother lived a full life of 96 yrs. This June she would of been 97. We may think..."wow, that's a long time!", but in comparison to time in eternity, our minds can't even begin to comprehend. With death, there is always saddness and sorrow. But when faced with this, one too can have true peace, hope and joy. You ask "how can that be?" Well, let me tell you, that peace, joy and hope comes from knowing and having a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the Creator of life and desires for us to spend eternity with Him. John 3:16 says..."For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life". My joy in my grandmother's death is that I know I will one day see her again in heaven with God. I am thankful for the legacy that she left behind. Because of my grandparent's faith, there is 4 generations of "believers".

Death always makes you appreciate your family, loved ones and friends. It's the relationships that we reflect upon and cherish, not the "things". In our busy lives these days, we must all stop and take the time to spend with one another. We need to say "I love you", give each other encouraging words, show with our actions that we care. Too many times we take each other for granted, when none of us knows when it will be our time to go.

My grandmother is finally Home. I know that I am just passing by here on earth and I too will one day be going Home....what a celebration that will be!! Our tears is for a short time as we will all be reunited again. I hope that you will make a choice for Heaven. When it is your time....where will your Home be?

Urban Style

We spent an afternoon out with Damian shooting his senior pics in downtown Pontiac. I never knew that there were so many cool looking places there! I loved the steel door, iron gate and graffiti on the train. It was a cold and windy afternoon but Damian knew how to show off his "GQ" look....he had the look that could be found on the front cover of a magazine. Here are some of my favorites.

Family....Brothers, Sisters and Cousins Too

Love, laughter and joy makes a family and there sure was a lot of that going around in both Kim's and Tena's family (they are sisters!). Kim has all the boys and they sure love to run and wrestle one another. Jordan, Marcus and Ethan make up the 3 musketeers. Brandon and Jessica are brothers and sisters. Jessica being the only girl in the bunch was able to rule the day. We had to check to make sure the ground to sit on was clean from any potential hazardous materials before Jessica sat down, and then made the boys move around her. It was a fun day and we enjoyed spending it with the whole gang!

Four Boys...Oh MY!!!!

A few weeks ago, I spent an afternoon with Lisa & Steve and their 4 boys (plus a dog). It was a fun day filled with lots of commotion and activity. Overall, the boys were great sports and even became quit fond of modeling in front of the camera.

Afternoon Out With Meaghan

We spent an afternoon out with Meaghan taking her senior pictures. She was such a good sport as it was a bit chilly out. Nevertheless, we had a great time out in Rochester. We were able to find some unique places to take pictures with some beautiful colors. I just love the green bench with the flower pots on the rusty cart!
